children in need

Today is a special day in England called « Children in need ». It’s a campaign  to raise money for the charity Children in Need. Since 1980 it has raised over £600 million  to change the lives of disabled children and young people in the UK.

For instance each pupil must bring one pound at school for the charity.

One of the highlights is an annual telethon, held in November and televised on lot’s of BBC channels from 7:30pm until 2am.

The mascot which fronts the Children in Need appeal is called « Pudsey Bear ».
